Branching out

20 x 20 oil painting
This Wednesday will start the series of oil painting classes, using the water based oils if possible. Love that they have no odor and will clean up with water! The Art Institute and Gallery art class room has good lighting and plenty of room to paint. . We work on composition, perspective and color balance, and develop a joy for painting. While there is nothing like drawing skills to improve your painting, it is not necessary to be able to draw to do a fine painting. Really! Check out the www.andg.oorg for more information on classes..
This weekend I have delivered an oil painting titled "Branching Out" to Ocean City Art League for their juried member show opening April 1. "Lone loon" is the title of the watercolor/pastel I took to Worcester County Arts Council for their second Friday event in Berlin. "Shades of summer" was entered in the Art Institute and Gallery show, winning a second ribbon. Barbara Beachump won the third and her daughter Lois won the first. Great little show, dont' miss it.

This 20 x 30 oil painting is a commission. It is of Chincoteague Bay at the north tip of Chincoteague Island, Va. The Blue heron needs finishing touches, and the trees need a little more work, hope to have it completed by labor day.!

Dourt Castle, Scotland

This almost finished, I haven't added the flag yet!
or signed it. Still doing some finishing touches.
It measures 15 x 30, some of the oil painting is
cropped on the sides. So interesting to read the
history on their webb site.
The little one is Abby, just after I adopted her Aug. 16, 2003.
She is such a joy and so funny, even helps me paint. That day
we had such fun. Champ was so perplexed !
